The Good News Is Great Love for God and Neighbor

The woman at Bethany and the sheep in Matthew 25 are not two different stories about two different kinds of people. They are the same story, told from two different angles. Both are acts of extravagant love. Both are received by Jesus as love offered to him. The good news is proclaimed every time we love with that kind of extravagance — whether it costs us money or comfort or reputation or time, whether it looks like a jar of perfume or a meal shared with a stranger, whether the room understands or not.
