It’s time to follow Jesus’ example by feeding the hungry and loving our neighbors.  

We have multiple opportunities, both daytime and evening, for you to serve our community! 

Sunday, July 12

  • 2-6 p.m.: Outdoor work for TAP Domestic Violence Services. We'll be helping to make the building a more welcoming environment for domestic violence survivors by gardening, staining some new benches, sprucing up our playground, and pressure washing.

Monday, July 13

  •  
  • 2- 4 p.m.: Making snack baskets for The Suites by TLOT. As families move in, we want them to have some easy food/snacks available. We'll gather in the Radiance Church fellowship hall and put together around 20-25 baskets.

Tuesday, July 14

  • 8:30-11:30 a.m.: Preparing ham biscuit lunch for 40 people for Street Level Sanctuary (a ministry of Belmont Presbyterian Church). Street Level Sanctuary provides food, coffee, prayer, and other services to the Southeast Roanoke community.

  • 1:00-3:00 p.m.: Weeding and cleaning bulletin boards at Green Valley Elementary School

Wednesday, July 15

  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m.: bagging cat food for Saleeba's Store of Hope (in the Radiance Church fellowship hall). This ministry provides pet food for those who can't afford it.

  • 1-4 PM: Serving at the Presbyterian Community Center. There will be jobs that can be done while sitting, as well as some manual labor.

Thursday, July 16

  • 2:30-4:30 p.m.: Quality assurance/food sorting at Feeding SW Virginia. You must be 13 or older to participate. (To carpool, meet at Radiance Church at 12:30 p.m.)

  • 6-8 p.m.: Preparing food for Friday's lunch for The Least of These Ministries (we'll be cooking in the Radiance Church kitchen)

Friday, July 17

  • 9-10:30 a.m.: Preparing lunch for The Least of These Ministries (we'll be cooking in the Radiance Church kitchen)

  • 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: Serving lunch and volunteering at The Least of These Ministries

Saturday, July 18

  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Serving at Family Promise's Family Fun Day. We'll be helping with set-up, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, keeping activities (outdoor games and bounce house) organized, and helping with clean up. Family Promise provides transitional housing for up to four families in their shelter.
